This book was written by Lucas Nguyen, a grade four student from Melbourne, Australia in 2016. He got help from a tutor, Jason Bryce. Each week we researched and brainstormed three of the world’s most famous cosmonauts, Yuri Gagarin, Alexei Leonov and Gherman Titov. We created a story around these legendary pioneers of space travel but our story is not what happened in real life. Lucas was inspired by his experience at his primary school, especially when he delivered a speech dressed up as Yuri Gagarin. In case you wondered, Yuri and Gherman are already dead in real life. I’ll tell you what these three amazing people did: Yuri Gagarin - First person in space. Gherman Titov - First person to spend a day in space, AND first person to vomit in space accidentally of course! Alexei Leonov - First person to do a space walk and was Yuri’s best mate.
